Diary, January 1884-December 1888 describing her family and social life in Canterbury, England, her voyage from Gravesend to Melbourne on the "Orient", 18 September, 1884-19 November, 1884, voyage across Bass Strait on board the "Manjanna" and arrival in Launceston. The diary recommences in January 1885 with settlement of all the Vallance family in Tasmania, establishment of a family draper's shop, shortage of music pupils, amateur theatricals and family and social life. The diary concludes with her engagement and marriage.
